Under the UK Government’s domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme, you could receive quarterly cash payments over seven years if you install or have already installed an eligible renewable heating technology.

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a scheme formed by the UK Government to encourage private households, to install renewable energy technologies for heating purposes, through financial support.
The RHI scheme has a current end date of 31st March 2022.
Eligibility – You can apply if you live in England, Scotland or Wales. You must either:
- own your home
- be a private or social landlord
To be eligible for RHI payments all renewable technologies must be:
- listed as a Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) certified product
- issued with a MCS certificate
Please note – New build properties will not normally be eligible. The only exception is if you’re building your own home
Payments are made for 7 years, paid quarterly and are based on the amount of renewable heat made by your heating system.
